NCSA Recognition - Celebrating our Success!
Below is a photo of Cheryl Romer, the Convenor of the Workplace Tragedy,
on the day she received her Award of Excellence from the
National Safety Council of Australia (NSCA) at a gala event on
Thursday 8th October. The national awards are held annually by the NSCA
to recognise outstanding workplace safety initiatives.
The
particular Award Cheryl received was the Ian Chisolm Award,
named in recognition of nearly 30 years dedicated service to the NSCA by
Ian Chisholm AM in his various capacities with the organisation.
This award gives the NSCA the opportunity to recognise an individual in the Australian community who has made an outstanding contribution to the cause of occupational health, safety and environment beyond their own workplace. Candidates for this award are nominated by the NSCA itself.
The following is the assessment criteria used in evaluating recipients of this award:
- Industry experience
- Evidence of OHS&E achievements and/or contributions
- Successful outcomes as a result of such contributions to the industry
- Leadership and commitment
- Future goals or endeavours.
We are just so proud of you Cheryl, and of all of our volunteers who help in so many ways to achieve better outcomes for families impacted by a workplace tragedy, and greater safety awareness.
